Profile of UnipolSai Assicurazioni

UnipolSai Assicurazioni S.p.A. 1) is the multi-branch insurance company of the Unipol Group, Italian leader in Non-Life business, particularly in Motor Vehicles.

Also a key player in Life business with over 10 million customers, UnipolSai holds a leading position in the national ranking of insurance groups in terms of direct insurance income, amounting to approximately €14bn (of which €7.3bn in Non-Life business and €6.7bn in Life business) at 31 December 2015. The company currently operates through 5 divisions (Unipol, La Fondiaria, Sai, Nuova MAA and La Previdente) and the largest agency network in Italy, consisting of more than 3,000 insurance agencies and over 6,000 sub-agencies across the country, through which it offers a complete range of insurance solutions.

Alongside the traditional channel, UnipolSai is also involved in the bancassurance channel thanks to an agreement with Unipol Banca and the joint ventures Popolare Vita (with the Banco Popolare Group), BIM Vita (with Banca Intermobiliare) and Incontra Assicurazioni (with the Unicredit Group).

UnipolSai is also present in Serbia through the second largest local insurer, DDOR Novi Sad.

The real estate business is increasingly important: in fact, UnipolSai has many prestigious properties in portfolio for the enhancement and restoration of which it has created the Urban Up project, dedicated to the redevelopment of the historically significant buildings owned, especially in the cities of Milan – such as the Velasca and Galfa Towers – and Turin – such as Galleria San Federico.

Finally, the commercial development of diversified companies continues, including the hotel chain Atahotels and the Tenute del Cerro wineries.

UnipolSai also owns Marina di Loano, a port facility in Liguria that can accommodate over 800 boats from 8 to 77 metres long.

UnipolSai is listed on the MTA of the Italian Stock Exchange and is included in the FTSE MIB index, which contains securities with the largest market capitalisation.

Finally, in order to increase the visibility of the many initiatives underway showing the commitment of the Group and the company, new corporate channels on social networks were opened during 2015: on Twitter the @UnipolSai_CRP profile was inaugurated, which shares the rich agenda of Group events on a daily basis with photos, news and announcements linked to the specific themes of the Corporate Sponsorship Program. Furthermore, on YouTube the Unipol Group Corporate Channel was created, featuring video productions by Broadcast Lab Unipol that include corporate and institutional videos, a dedicated web series starring the Team Young Italy UnipolSai, as well as videos confirming UnipolSai’s activities as main sponsor of the Jubilee of Mercy and much more.
