Also active in Life business, UnipolSai holds a strong position in the national ranking of insurance groups in terms of direct income, totalling €11.1 billion, of which €7.4 billion in Non-Life business and €3.7 billion in Life business (2017 figures). It operates through the largest agency network in Italy, with over 2,700 insurance agencies and close to 6,000 sub-agencies located across the country. UnipolSai Assicurazioni is a subsidiary of Unipol Gruppo S.p.A. and, like the latter, is listed on the MTA market of the Italian Stock Exchange and included in the FTSE MIB index for highly capitalised securities.
It also provides direct insurance through Linear Assicurazioni, health insurance through the specialised company UniSalute, and has a strong presence in the bancassurance channel thanks to an agreement with Unipol Banca and the joint ventures created with leading Italian banks. An agreement to transfer Arca Vita from Unipol to UnipolSai is also in the process of being finalised (Arca Vita and Arca Assicurazioni distribute Life and Non-Life policies through the banking groups Banca Popolare dell’Emilia Romagna, Banca Popolare di Sondrio, and other banks). The operating scope of Unipolsai also includes service providers specifically dedicated to car servicing and repairs, and the management of “black boxes” for the Auto and Non-Auto insurance.
UnipolSai operates in Serbia through the second-largest local insurance company, DDOR Novi Sad.
The Real Estate Sector
UnipolSai is a leading operator on the Italian market in terms of assets. It owns properties of great historic, symbolic and architectural value, which it is reviving as part of the Urban Up project focused on studying and renovating these important buildings.
The company is also a major player in the Italian hotel industry with the brands Atahotels and UNA Hotels & Resorts, as well as in the agricultural sector with Tenute del Cerro and in port management with Marina di Loano.
In recent years, the Unipol Group has consolidated its brand awareness in the financial community by increasing its presence on new Media, with a view to the strategic coordination of all corporate communication channels. This has gradually led to the creation of corporate profiles on LinkedIn, Twitter, YouTube, Facebook and Instagram, as well as its very own blog Changes, giving greater visibility to the many projects and initiatives that show the commitment with which Unipol shares its corporate values and promotes events.
